Testimony

My name is Marrianne R and in June 2004, I suffered a pinal injury at C4 level. the injury I sustained was the result of a road traffic accident and left me paralysed from the shoulders down.

Despite the doctors in the UK predicting that my condition was unlikely to ever have ane any significantly improvement, my positive attitude towards life means that I am not prepared to simply accept that prognoses.

In October 2005, I visited the clinic in France to begin Laserponcture with Monsieur Bohbot. Before visiting the clinic, I spoke to several other patients of Monsieur Bohbot in a bid to gain a little more incite. Every person I spoke to, all of whom had various levels of spinal injury, had only positive things to say. Indeed, all had made improvements of some kind.

Today I write this letter after visiting the clinic on a number of accasions. I have now 32 sessions, over a 5-month period, and I am pleased to say that I have noticed significant improvements. My feelings and sensations have increased and my spasms, which cause me much discomfort, have reduced.

Monsieur Bohbot encourages his patients to undertake significant physcial activity, both whilst at the clinic and at home, in a bid to fully gain the benefit of the laserponcture. With this in mind, I follow a strict daily physical fitness programme myself. Since first visiting the clinic, I have increased msucle tone in both arms and legs and most importantly, a new muscle movement in my wrist.

I have no doubt that Laserponcture has momentous benfits for people with spinal injury and I would recommend it to anyone with SCI who has the heart and desire to push their recovery as far as possible. I will continue to visit the clinic and hope that one day, the treament will be readily available to people with SCI all over the world.

Yours faithfully,

Marrianne R

Update 3 September 2008

In my original testimony, written some time ago, I mentioned people needing the heart and desire to really push their recovery forward. This is something that I still maintain to this day. Unfortunately there is no instant fix or miracle cure, but there are ways to push your recovery forward and improve your situation – no matter what it might be. Whatever direction you take, you will always need patience and hard work.

Whilst every spinal injury is different and it is very difficult to recommend things for other people, I can share with you my progress, my thoughts and the route I take.

I have visited the Brucker Biofeedback Clinic in Miami on two occasions now; once in 2007 and once in 2008. There, the scientific work of the late Professor Brucker proves how the body will continue to repair years after a spinal injury. Without going into detail of how it all works (this will soon be available on their website) I have detailed below some stats from my recent trip.

The guys in Miami don’t claim to be a treatment they are a way of monitoring how the body is repairing. As the body repairs from the inside, you may have regained some repair and reconnection between your brain and your muscle groups without knowing it. It might be too small a connection to actually move the muscle and the mistake that people make is to assume there is nothing there because it doesn’t instantly move. Wrong! The biofeedback method can tell you exactly what is there; then you can go away and work on the connections to try and improve them - improve them to the point where there is function.

Laserpuncture

The team in Miami were very pleased with my scores during my 2008 trip. They were impressed with my muscle tone and the improved connections between my brain and various muscles. They simply told me to “keep doing what you are doing’.

I work hard at physio and I visit Laserpuncture as often as I can. I feel the work of Albert Bohbot fits perfectly with the scientific proof of how the body repairs itself. Whilst I don’t know the technical “ins and outs”, it feels as though the Laserponcture helps the brain to establish new connections. Unfortunately, I often hear from disappointed people how things don’t work for them and that because they have not had instant results, it doesn’t work. Whilst I’d like nothing better then instant success, it just isn’t available. The next best thing is progress, no matter how slow it is. Since visiting Laserpuncture I have had progress, what more can I say.

Here are my Statistics from my 2008 trip to Miami. The percentages represent the neurological connection I have between my brain and the various muscle groups tested. Whilst some connections are still too small for function, I hope that it is only a matter of time before they improve to the point where they are strong enough for movement.
