- Motor system: nil.
- Sensory system on 2 April 2003: feels pains on calves sometimes ;
feels a little pressure on thighs.
- Bowels: cannot feel when bowels are full; uses suppositories 3 times a week.
- Bladder: feels when his bladder is full since March
2003; intermittent cath. 4/day and penilex; can hold water for a few
minutes; leakings during the day and at night; bladder infection:
1/month.
- Intimate sensations on 29 Sep. 2003: erection but not ejaculation;
no sensation during intercourse.
- Independent for toileting and dressing since 2002.

1. Independence
- 29 Sep. 2003: transfers himself without assistance since his first
stay in April 2003; easier to have his shower; turns in bed
without assistance; has a better sitting position.
- Since Sep. 2003: turns spontaneously in bed while sleeping.
- Aug. 2003: can get up alone from bed.
2. Stability
- 23 Sep. 2003: when Mario stands in a frame, he cannot feel
the weight of his body; when he stands between parallel bars in his
KAFOs, he feels the weight of his body down to his navel.
- 22 Sep. 2004: feels the weight of his body down to his navel
and a bit in his hips and feet if he stands in a frame or between
parallel bars.
2. Walking
- 2 April 2003: walks with KAFOs between parallel bars and
pushes a walker.
3. Sensory level
- Light touch:
22 July 2004: feels tingling in his thighs.
23 Nov. 2004: no change.
- Pressure:
22 Jul. 2004: tingling in hips, front of thighs, in his back at
level T8 to L1 (= below his SCI).
23 Nov. 2004: same.
- Pain: nil.
23 Sep. 2003: feels pain at level of left fibula.
23 Nov. 2004: feels vibrations in bones when he knocks himself +
slight feeling in his muscles.
- Hot:
22 July 2004: feels warm tingling below his injury.
23 Nov. 2004: sometimes feels warmth from a radiator or from the
sun below his injury; feels warm water as tingling down to T7 (front)
and T10 (back).
- Cold:
23 Nov. 2004: when the weather is cold or cold water runs down his body,
Mario feels warmth below his injury.
- Sweating:
22 July 2004: when Mario comes closer to a radiator, his lower
limbs warm up; feels warmth more and more in his lower limbs.
29 Sep. 2004: sweats below his injury (back, front, feet, etc.)
during excercises and when temperatures are high
23 Nov. 2004: feels tingling; feels the blood circulation through
his lower limbs.
5. Bowels and bladder
- Bowels: same.
- Bladder:
22 July 2004: leakings if bladder infection; knows when his
bladder is full more and more precisely through feelings of warmness in
his body, pressure in his bladder and sweating.
23 Nov. 2004: can hold water for 30 minutes.
- Intimate sensations:
22 July 2004: has erections but sometimes uses viagra; sometimes
has ejaculations and physical sensations during sexual intercourse since
2004; sometimes feels itching at the end of the glans or like a
circulation during an erection.
23 Nov. 2004: constant and appropriate ejaculations; uses cialis
for erections sometimes.
