Abstract

The epidermis is the physical interface between the inside world and the outside world. It is a physiological barrier to the outside aggressions. The cutaneous surface corresponds to the radicular sensitive territories - the dermatoms - and to the areas of the meridians projection, Jingmai - the pibu.

Laserpuncture is based on the association of the quantum theory of action of an inoffensive infrared laser and the theories of traditional acupuncture. It consists of an energetic supply on a point of the cutaneous surface. The laser triggers the apparition of sensations in the part of the body under the medullar lesion. The patients express a sensory language like tingling, pricks, pins and needles, nothing, hot, cold, on the surface or in depth of some parts of their bodies. The perceptions described reminds us of the propagated sensation along the canals (PSC), as it was reported to the Beijing Symposia in 1979.

Seven patients - paraplegic or quadriplegic - have been studied for three months, point after point. Their sensations are reported in tables (see annexes, end of essay).

Through these observations, the PSC - triggered by laserpuncture - would seem to be the reported expression of the nervous impulse and energy.

Considering this hypothesis, laserpuncture would have an action at three levels:

- Directly on the cutaneous area where the laser lens is applied, with hypodermic spreading of the nervous impulse, maybe in the couli (virtual space between dermis and epidermis) on the dermatom area or pibu corresponding. This spreading would be done in a concomitant way with the general polarisation of the skin.

- On the jingmai meridians, located in depth, thanks to the spreading circuits of the network of fuluo and sunluo that allow the circulation of energy between the cutaneous surface, pibu, and the 12 jingmai meridians.

- On the corresponding spinal cord segment of the solicited dermatom, or the one located face to the point of application, taking into account the interval between the osseous vertebral level and the spinal cord segment level for the points located on the spine.

In all three cases, the information seems to be transmitted to the brain. Indeed, the perception of a sensation means that there is a real awareness of the area, expressed by the dermatom.

We notice a general spreading of the information. It seems that they are under the dependence of a cutaneous polarisation. Laserpuncture would trigger the secretion and release of a substance of general action, unknown until now. Is it a non-allergernic histamin? And where is located the secretion?

Would laserpuncture be the lowest common denominator between the two eastern and western medicines. At the same time, through the expression of the spreading of energy under the shape of the propagated sensation phenomenon, it would tend to prove the existence of meridians.
